We want to encourage letter writing. As a member, if you don't have anyone to write to, we will connect you with as many pen pals as you want to help you write more letters.

The way the pen pal swap works is that you start with 2 pals- one that you write to initially and one that writes to you initially. It's a staggered system to make sure that everyone ends up with a good letter writer, and maybe even two good letter writers. So they don't know you are writing them and you don't know who's writing to you initially.
